Signed with Grand Canyon University out of high school.  One of the nation’s premier defensive catchers, Avitia caught over 1,000 innings and stopped over half of the opponent’s stolen base attempts the last three seasons (35 of 69, 50.7%) Signed with Chicago Cubs Organization.
